Batch of 315 kva Distribution Transformers Shipped to Africa
JINSHANMEN TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD, a leading manufacturer of power transmission and distribution equipment based in China, announced the shipment of a large batch of 315 kva distribution transformers to multiple African nations on November 13th, 2025. The consignment, with more than 50 units neatly loaded into containers under the supervision of both company quality inspectors and African client representatives at Shanghai Port, also includes customized 11kv to 33kv transformers-key products tailored to match the voltage grade requirements of local power grids. This delivery marks the company's third bulk order for 315 kva distribution transformers to Africa this year, following two shipments to South Africa and Algeria in March and July respectively, fully reflecting the strong market recognition of its reliable power solutions in the region.

The 315 kva distribution transformers in this batch are specially engineered to withstand Africa's harsh operating environments, including high temperatures reaching 45℃ in desert-edge areas, high humidity in coastal regions and frequent voltage fluctuations caused by unstable grid loads. Before shipment, each unit underwent rigorous quality checks: temperature cycle tests at 55℃ to -10℃, humidity resistance tests lasting 14 days, and load operation tests for 72 consecutive hours-all meeting ISO 9001 quality management system and IEC 60076 international electrical standards. "What makes our 315 kva distribution transformer stand out is its low no-load loss-we've optimized the core material with high-grade silicon steel to cut energy consumption by 12% compared to conventional models," explained Zhang Hua, head of the company's R&D department. Meanwhile, the 11kv to 33kv transformers feature a compact design with a weight reduction of 8% compared to similar products, making them easier to transport to remote rural areas via unpaved roads and quicker to install on-site, which saves at least 30% of installation time.
The order came after six months of in-depth technical communication and sample verification with African partners. A local power company in Kenya, which tested the 315 kva distribution transformer prototype earlier this year in its Kitui County project, reported zero operational failures during a three-month trial covering peak agricultural irrigation periods and evening residential power consumption peaks. "These 315 kva distribution transformers have solved our long-standing problem of unstable power supply for irrigation pumps and residential use-previously, we had to cut power twice a day during peak hours, but now the supply is steady," said Peter Kamau, technical director of the Kenyan company. "We also value the 11kv to 33kv transformer's flexibility-it can be adjusted according to our grid's real-time voltage changes, which is crucial for our scattered rural power network. Beyond Kenya, this shipment also caters to partners in Tanzania and Ethiopia, who specifically requested the 315 kva distribution transformers for their rural electrification projects funded by the African Development Bank."

Mr. Li Wei, General Manager of JINSHANMEN TECHNOLOGY's International Business Division, noted that Africa's growing demand for infrastructure development, especially rural electrification and industrial park construction, has become a key driver for the company's overseas expansion. "We've established a local after-sales service center in Nigeria last year, with a team of 15 professional technicians who can provide on-site maintenance and technical support for our products within 48 hours-covering both the 315 kva distribution transformer and 11kv to 33kv transformer," he added. As a comprehensive power equipment supplier, JINSHANMEN TECHNOLOGY mainly produces oil immersed power transformers, dry-type power transformers, oil immersed three-dimensional coiled power transformers, dry-type three-dimensional coiled power transformers, mining explosion-proof dry-type transformers, mining explosion-proof mobile substations, amorphous alloy power transformers, on load capacity regulating power transformers, locomotive dry-type transformers, as well as prefabricated substations, modular substations, wind energy box type substations, high and low voltage switchgear and other transmission and distribution equipment. With an annual production capacity of over 50,000 units of various transformers, the company aims to deepen its presence in Africa by launching more market-adapted products next year, including a solar-compatible version of the 315 kva distribution transformer tailored for off-grid areas in Africa.
