Technical requirements for transformer coils:
Coil is one of the basic structure of the transformer, for its composition of the winding, there are these three technical requirements:
1. electrical strength: can withstand long-term operation of the transformer, but also can withstand the impact of overvoltage
2. mechanical strength: can withstand strong short-circuit current impact, in the impact of electromagnetic force, the structure does not produce deformation and damage
3. heat dissipation ability: can reach the corresponding heat dissipation level, even if because of the short-circuit increased heat, will not immediately burn the transformer.
Common Coil Winding Characteristics
In terms of coil winding, there are the following types
1.Cylindrical Coil: Cylindrical coil has single layer, double layer and multi-layer three kinds, which has the coil winding is simple, good workmanship, high efficiency of heat dissipation in the oil channel between the layers, but the mechanical strength is poor, generally should not be wound into a single layer.
2.Spiral coil: there are single spiral, double spiral, four spiral and other forms. Its parallel wires are located in different radial position, the length is different, in the winding process, must be changed. It is characterized by a simple winding process, coil turn-to-turn heat dissipation is better, but change position is more trouble.
3.Continuous coil: Continuous coil has the advantages of high mechanical strength and good heat dissipation, etc. It is made of one or more flat wires continuously wound into several pie-shaped wire segments on the winding mold support strip.
